PLEASE ARRIVE ONE HOUR BEFORE YOUR START TIME at the Bear Valley Snowmobile shop on 132 Bear Valley Road ("Bear Valley Village" starred on our map) to allow for time to fill out the Release of Liability paperwork and helmet fitting. From the shop you will drive in your car to the SnoPark 2 miles up the road for orientation and the start of your snowmobiling adventure.
Ride times will be shortened for late arriving parties. We provide helmets during the rental but you are welcomed to bring your own DOT approved helmet if you like. Dress in layers. Bring Sun screen. Bring sun glasses. Don't forget your camera! If you are bringing drinks or snacks be sure to remember a back pack - there is no storage on or in the snowmobile. Our snowmobiles can hold a maximum of two people for a total of 400 pounds.
Where can you ride our rentals?
The Ebbetts Pass area offers miles of wide groomed trails. Self guided tours include a map of the area and a SnoPark Pass. A Bear Valley Snowmobile crew patrols the trails and is ready to help if needed. Our snowmobiles ready to go at the following trail heads:
- Lake Alpine - view Alpine Trail map
- Spicer Reservoir - view Spicer Trail map
- Bear Valley In Town - view Village map
Who can ride our snowmobiles?
We provide spectacular outdoor adventures the entire family can enjoy. All snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license. All of our rentals are late model Ski-Doos with hand and thumb warmers and electric starts for your comfort. All snowmobiles seat two people max - there is no charge for the passenger. Renters are required to provide their own transportation to and from the trailheads, 2-4 miles away unless you ride in the Village area which is right outside our front door. You will need a credit card for each rental contract and to sign a Release of Liability and Acknowledgement of Risk.
What about little kids?
For children younger then five years old we offer a specially designed front pack "Kid Karrier" for children as young as two. Another great option for the kids is to rent the people carrier - available in the Bear Valley Village only - this "limo" seats two, up to 250lbs - see picture to the right.
What about elderly folks or the disabled?
For those of us without the muscular strength, coordination, or you are just tired from a long day skiing, snowmobiling lets you see mother nature at her grandest in the wintertime. Snowmobiling primarily uses your arms and thumb to control the throttle. Many who are unable to walk, ski, or snow shoe can still enjoy the winter wilderness on snowmobiles.
What should I bring for the ride?
- Sun Glasses
- Sun Screen
- Camera
- Snacks & Drinks in a BACK PACK (no storage on the snowmobiles)
- Dress in layers along with boots for ice and snow conditions
- Snow Chains that fit your car tires (required by law to be carried in your car)
